Private Day Tour to Salt Mine in Slanic Prahova and Muddy Volcanoes bonus Lacerta Winery from Bucharest.

The private day tour shall take you first to discover Unirea Salt Mine in the town of Slanic Prahova. It is the second largest salt mine in Europe, located 208 meters under the ground and with a height of the 54 meters of its hall. You will have a simply breathtaking walk in the mine.

After the salt mine visit, we can have a stop in Fintesti town (optional and available only from Thursday - Sunday) at Lacerta Winery which is now the most modern winery in Romania. Wines made along the 45th parallel which positions the Fintesti vine estate at the same level with the Bordeaux, Saint-Emilion as well as the Toscana vineyards, are prestigious for their rich, complex and silken taste. Wine tasting is possible - at your own expense - either 3 types of wine for 29 Ron/person or 6 types of wine for 49 Ron/person.

Next we drive to one of the most interesting mixed reservations (geological and botanical) in Romania, the Muddy Volcanoes in Buzau County. It has been a protected reservation since 1924. Muddy Volcanoes in Buzau county are not the volcanoes you would expect. They’re not the big, real volcanoes that scare off people with volcanic ash. Not by far. But they’re a pretty amazing and unique place in Romania.

Private day trip from Brasov to Curtea de Arges Monastery, The Ruins of Poienari Castle (Vlad the Impaler's Castle) and Vidraru Dam (Vidraru Lake), then back to Brasov. Some of the best sights from Romania!

At 9 AM you will be picked up from your hotel from Brasov. Our first stop will be at Curtea de Arges Monastery. After that we will go at Poienari Village, where the ruins of Vlad the Impaler's Castle is. After visiting, we will go at Vidraru, where we will have also a lunch break, at a traditional local cuisine restaurant (vegetable dishes are also available). Around 19:00 we will back in Brasov. We will ride you back at your hotel.

At each sight we will spent enough time to visit also the surroundings. Our guide will tell you how much time is recommended to spent but the final decision will be yours - you decide how much time to spent at each sight.

Curtea de Arges Monastery - Maybe is the only one monastery from Romania which is more about the legends than religion. The legend of the pregnant women trapped inside the walls and the death of master Manole who tried to fly with wooden wings are probably the most known legends about this monastery. Find out the other legends about this place and the tombs of the greatest kings of Romania (which are inside the monastery), such as Carol I, the founder of Sinaia Castle.

The Ruins of Poienari Citadel or The Ruins of Vlad the Impaler's Citadel (Vlad the Impaler - the medieval Romanian ruler whose image is associated with Count Dracula). Be aware: From the bottom of the hill to up where the ruins are, you have to step more than 1.400 medieval stairs. Is not hard, really! We need like 30 minutes for all of them. But even so, we do not recommend this tour for pregnant women or for those with medical problems.

Vidraru Dam - Situated in one of the most beautiful and wild areas from Carpathian Mountains, Vidraru Dam is the highest one from Romania and one of the highest from Europe!

This private full day tour will offer you the opportunity to visit Bucharest's most important landmarks and its surroundings. The city, once called "Little Paris" will welcome you with its "Belle Époque" perfume in the restored Old City center with 17th Century old churches and Palaces built in French style. But also make sure you witness the contrasts of the buildings/churches mentioned with the communist blocks and the very modern glass sky scrapers in the business office areas.
We shall visit the inside of the famous Palace of Parliament and the Village Museum and also Snagov Monastery, where Vlad the Impaler (aka Dracula) is thought to be buried along with Mogosoaia Palace, built by Prince Constantin Brancoveanu between 1698 -1702.

We will pick you up from the hotel and then start exploring Bucharest and its surroundings:

  • Visit the Village Museum – second largest outdoor museum in Europe where you will see a small part of the traditional Romanian life from centuries ago
  • We will pass by The Arch of Triumph to arrive on the enchanting Victoria Avenue – the oldest boulevard in the city, then onto Revolution Square and later at University Square, two landmarks of Romanians’ fighting for their freedom. On December 1989, the communist dictator Nicolae Ceausescu addressed the Romanian people for the last time from the balcony of the Central Committee Building
  • Discover more historical buildings and monuments including the National Art Museum located in the former Royal Palace, the Romanian Atheneum, an iconic concert hall and Kretzulescu church, built in Brancovenesc style
  • A relaxed walk in the Old Town area will allow you to discover other historic buildings including Stavropoleos Church, History Museum, and National Bank of Romania. We can stop for lunch at one of the traditional and most popular beer houses in Bucharest in Old Town

  • Visit inside of the Palace of Parliament – second largest administrative building in the world, designed by a team of 700 architects. It holds the record for the most expensive administrative building ever built (around 3 billion EURO) and the heaviest one. Inside a guided visit tour is available

The Surroundings of Bucharest will complete the private tour, including
  • Visit inside of the Mogosoaia Palace - built by Prince Constantin Brancoveanu between 1698 -1702 in what is called the Romanian Renaissance style or Brâncovenesc style which was inspired by Italian Renaissance with baroque and oriental influences.
