Itinerary: Bucharest - Targoviste - Curtea de Arges - Poenari - Bucharest

The day trip will start from your hotel where you will be picked up by your guide who will drive 80 km to the town of Targoviste, where you will visit the Princely Court (inside visit) from where Vlad Dracula ruled over Wallachia. Here you will find the imposing ruins of the feudal residence of Dracula and his family of rulers, climb to the top of the high Chindia Tower, visit the old mysterious Orthodox Church to understand more about religion in the time of Vlad and the spooky cellars of the establishment while imagining how it all looked like centuries ago in the bloody middle ages.

From here you will head to the beautiful town of Curtea de Arges, the other important Princely Court of Wallachia in medieval days and discover their ruins, as well as two old and superb churches: the Princely Church (inside visit) dating back to the 13th century and the Monastery of Curtea De Arges (inside visit) that hides a scary story about human sacrifice. 

The next stop is further up the road, up in the Carpathian Mountains on the banks of the river Arges, mentioned in the novel Dracula, where you will visit the Poenari Fortress (inside visit). This 15th century stronghold standing atop the cliff was built under the command of Vlad Dracula and it was a place that went through a lot of bloody episodes, all of which you will hear during your stay here. One important fact you must know about Dracula: he was very fit as in order to reach the fortress you will have to climb over 1400 steps.

Day 1: BUCHAREST – SINAIA -BRAN – BRASOV (B)
Starting from Bucharest you will head towards the beautiful Transylvania.First we are going to stop at Peles Palace where you are going to visit the interior. Next we head for Bran Castle, known also as Dracula’s Castle, where you are going to visit the inside with our guide. In the afternoon you will reach the city of Brasov. Enjoy our walking tour as you stroll from the main square towards old City Hall with its clock tower, The Black Church, the two watch towers up the hill, the craftsmen guilds and the narrowest street in Europe.

Day 2: Brasov – Prejmer – Viscri - Sighisoara ( B)
Set out in the morning for Prejmer Fortified Church. This UNESCO site has a long story of resistance in front of medieval invasions. Prejmer is one of the most emblematic fortified churches of Transylvania and it is situated close to Brasov.
After visit drive for Viscri UNESCO Heritage village. Viscri is one of the few villages of Transylvania which still preserves the lifestyle and architecture of the old saxon villages.Overhere you are going to experience the lifestyle of the villagers by using the horse cart ride around the village in order to visit the local blacksmith which will perform a small show of demonstration in his workshop.
Reach in the afternoon Sighisoara.

Day 3: Sighisoara – Biertan – Sibiu ( B)
After breakfast tour the wonderful and medieval town of Sighisoara. Take a walking tour with our guide in order to explore the Clock Tower, former main entrance of the city, The Church on the Hill and the Scholars stair.
After Sighisoara head for Biertan Fortified Church, which is another UNESCO Heritage site. A former church built in the Medieval times that sits on top of the hill and offers great view over the village. Inside the church our guide will explain the history of this place and also the reason why is so well known.
In the afternoon reach Sibiu were you are going to have a walking tour of the Main Square, Liars Bridge, see the Cathedral and also the Small Square.

Day 4: Sibiu- Curtea de Arges – Bucharest ( B)
After a warm breakfast start out in the morning for Olt River Valley Road in your quest of crossing the Carpathians.
Reach the Curtea de Arges church is one of our most symbolic churches. The architecture of the church as well as the history of it, will be explained by our guide.

Day 1: Bucharest–Curtea de arges–Sibiu (B)
Set out in the morning towards Transylvania region. On your way will stop at Curtea de Arges Monastery.
If the weather allows it make your way towards Sibiu city through Transfagarasan Road. Reach in the afternoon in Sibiu where you will do a walking tour of this magical city.
Please note that between the period of June-October Transfgarasan Road is open.
If the Transfagarasan Road is closed the alternative route of Olt Valley River Road will be used.

Day 2: Sibiu–Alba-Iulia–Corvin castle–Breb Village(B)
After breakfast set out for Alba Iulia city to visit a well preserved town.

Day 3: Maramures excursion (B)
After breakfast set out in the morning for your Maramures excursion. You will first go at the local whirpool to see how the locals where washing their clothes and rugs.
Head for the Wood Carventer, one of the few craftsmen of the area that will offer an idea of how wood carventing is done in Maramures.
Reach Dragomiresti Museum and do not forget to also pass at Ieud wooden church.
End your day at the Merry Cemetery.
Enjoy a traditional dinner.
Overnight in Breb Village.

Day 4: Breb-Sighisoara(B)
Set out in the morning from your accommodation from Maramures and head back to Transylvania.
Discover a fairytale town that still holds that medieval air of the place. Tour the Old Town and see the Clock Tower, Scholars Stair and Church on the Hill.

Day 5: Sighisoara–Biertan–Brasov(B)
This is more of a leisure day as you are going to travel from Sighisoara to Brasov. On the way you will first stop at Biertan Fortified Church and then head for Brasov where you will be enjoying a walking tour of the city to find out the history of this place.
In the evening enjoy time at leisure.

Day 6: Brasov–Prejmer–Rasnov–Brasov(B)

After breakfast we will head for Biertan Fortified Church UNESCO Heritage site, to visit one of the most important fortified church in Transylvania. Then we head the medieval citadel of Sighisoara, one of the very few permanently inhabited citadels in Europe. This is also the birthplace of the legendary Vlad Dracula, whose house we will see, after which we will climb to the top of the 500 year old clock tower for a fantastic view over the town. 

Reach Brasov in the afternoon where you will be accommodated and set out for a walking tour in one of the most beautiful Transylvanian cities.

Day 3: Brasov – Bran castle – Peles Castle (B)

After breakfast set out in the morning towards Bran Castle aka Dracula’s castle the imposing construction watches over a valley from a strategic position, it was originally built as a fortress at the former border between Wallachia and Transylvania. Together we shall discover the connection between the legendary ruler, Vlad the Impaler, and the infamous vampire.
From Bran castle we will head for our last stop Peles castle, which is built by the royal family of Romania during the 19th century, this palace offers an insight of 19th century German Renaissance style of decorations. 

Reach Bucharest in the afternoon.

Leave the bustle of Bucharest behind and head for Romania's favorite holiday destination on a tour to the beautiful Black Sea coast. In Constanta, dig into the area’s ancient history at an archaeology museum, learn about Romanian folk art traditions, and step inside the country’s largest mosque. Then, soak up some sun and relaxed local culture on the sandy beaches of Mamaia, a popular seaside resort known as the ‘Pearl of the Black Sea.’

Our tour to Constanta starts early in the morning and takes us east for 230 km on the A2 highway all the way to the majestic Black Sea.

We will stroll through the old part of the city, that is overlooking the coastline, and visit the Museum of Archaeology and History,which exhibits the largest collection of vases, statuary and jewellery from the Greek-Roman period in Romania. In the square facing the museum, we will see the statue of the famous Roman poet, Ovid, and think back of how life was like in those days with some help from his writings.

Leaving Antiquity behind, we will go inside the largest mosque in Romania, built in 1910 by our King Carol I for the local Muslim community, and climb the 140 steps of the minaret for a breathtaking view over the city and the sea. As a testimony to the ethnic diversity and confessional tolerance practised here, further the road, we will visit the beautiful Saints Peter and Paul Orthodox Cathedral, a monument of Byzantine architecture, placed near the ruins of the ancient city.

From here, we can walk to the Black Sea coast, where we will find the symbol of Constanta – the spectacular Art Nouveau Casino standing between the commercial port and tourist one. After these visits, we could enjoy lunch in one of the best restaurants with fish products located on the coastline and continue our tour of the city with the Folk Art Museum, where you will be better acquainted to traditional life in Romania through its impressive collection of costumes, household items and religious icons.

No trip to Constanta is complete without a stop in the seaside resort of Mamaia, known as the Pearl of the Black Sea. With its fine sand and line up of restaurants, cafés and clubs, Mamaia is the most popular destination on the Black Sea, offering both relaxation, as well as entertainment. You can sit back, listen to the sounds of waves and enjoy the afternoon sun at the beach before heading back to Bucharest.

In the evening sets in we will reach Sighisoara, where you will be accommodated.

Day 2: Sighisoara - Sibiu - Bucharest
After breakfast, we will go on a tour of the medieval citadel of Sighisoara, one of the very few permanently inhabited citadels in Europe. This is also the birthplace of the legendary Vlad Dracula, whose house we will see, after which we will climb to the top of the 500 year old clock tower for a fantastic view over the town. 
Next stop will be Sibiu, also known as Hermannstadt. This is the heart of the German community living in Romania, the German Saxons having lived here for over 800 years. A former European capital of culture, Sibiu boasts many great sights from medieval times when it was a citadel: the Great Square, the Brukenthal Museum and an infamous Bridge of Lies. 
Afterwards, we drive along the spectacular Olt river valley going back to Bucharest.
